This entry brought a few tears...in today's world, not many people would stand for something the way you do. Not many would continue to love their spouse the same way after eighteen years, and would stick by them during illness. People say chivelry and honor is dead, but I read your journal and find it isn't so...there are a few good men left in this world. There is some hope.

You are such a strong willed, amazing person. I seriously hope that others read this and take notes on how to love unconditionally. It seems people forget how to do so too often.

It's nice that you're making a difference in others lives and being there for people. And maybe when a lot of your friends are younger, it's juss that you're at heart? Haha. Maybe, who knows? But it doesn't matter I guess. A friend can be anyone...?

Jack your not a burden to any of your friends-- that is what they are there for. friends are always unconditionally there for you, they love you and care so much about you that they don't feel it as a burden.
i know i am not the best person to be saying this-- and you might think it as harsh-  but it is said with love-- you will ultimately have to face your fear- kitty will one day die- whether it be now or later- it will happen. everyone dies it's one of those great things that are a constant with living.  let me ask you-- have you stopped smoking yet? you see what it does- you see the end result-- if you or jack haven't yet please do for not only yourselves but those that love you guys!!! maybe that is one way you can give something back... give yourself life through her tragedy. you can't make her better-- but you can make yourself better!!!! i know you have tried and i hope that you will ultimately succeed. i will keep you guys in my prayers as always (after all- i think of you as family no matter what). please keep me informed of her condition-- and tell her that i love her for me.

So true. It is sickening.  In Florida last summer a babysitter raped and murdered the 2 year old little girl he was watching. The sentence was 2 years because he couldn't be tried as an adult, and was only accountable till he was 18.

Outside of Syracuse NY back in 93, two fifteen year olds kidnapped a 5 year old little boy from the mall and took him to the train tracks. They moletsted, beat, kicked, and shoved the little boy onto the tracks in front of an oncoming train.  Police denied the mother of seeing her son's body that it was so horrible. The two teens were proclaimed "arrogant of their deeds and unaccountable. They would serve in juvenile detention till they were 18 and would be set free under "witness protection." So they killed a child and they get new lives later...

Other children go around in school playing "games" that they get from video games and television. They play pretend to shoot one another, blow each other up, and imaginerily beat each other....and we wonder where they get it from later in life....

I am sorry to hear that your christmas was so sad, my mom was in the hospital with kidney failure right before christmas and shes not doing well either, pretty much she is needing a transplant.  I hope that this year brings up better hopes.

As always, thank you for your comment. Your words mean a lot to me. It's not easy always trying to think positive, but I do my best. I just try to remember that there are people in the world who have suffered worse than I have. I also believe that everything happens for a reason, and hopefully I'm a better person because of all that I've been through.

Your poem is beautiful. It breaks my heart that things like this happen, but they do. It's a sick world we live in. Thankfully there are good people like you to balance out all the bad in the world.

You are so good at writing poems Jack. You're good at getting into the minds of those who are hurting and writing their feelings down. That's a very sad poem, but it's very well written. I wish that those types of things didn't happen, but they do, because people are sinners. There will always be people who do horrible things, and it causes great and everlasting hurt to those they are close to. It's one of the downfalls of this earth. I hope that those who have gone through that can move on, so that they can have a good and loving relationship. Well, ttyl!

I'm still here in a way things haven't been going to well lately I've cried a dozen tears and I'm so lost right now.  I can't believe what's happening I'm practically beside myself.  I don't know what to do I'm that lost.  I keep asking God to help me and at times I don't think he's listening.  I don't know what I'm going to do, where I'm going to go, or what will happen with work.  I'm so scared and feel so alone.

that's so sad jack and i really do feel for you and i can't think of a better man than you, you're so caring and i believe you have reason to be angry but you can't fight this on your own. have you gotten a lawyer involved? i know i'm only 17 and you must think "oh what does she know?" but i'm studing law and after the conferance if nothing improves please see one for legal advice or maybe take a lawyer with you so then at least know you're deadly serious or perhaps recorder the meeting in case you should ever need it as any sort of evidence

i don't really know what else you can do, i'm only in my 2nd year of college and i haven't yet studied medical law and i do agree that you need to do anything to make sure your wife is taken cared of.
